Epiphone Guitars

While many players think of Epiphone guitars as Gibson's entry-level line, Epiphone actually has a history going back to 1873. For decades, Epiphone was Gibson's chief rival, well-known for archtop models like the Broadway and Triumph. Gibson acquired Epiphone in 1957 and used the name on variations of many models, all of which were built in their main factory. Starting in the '70s, Epiphone production was moved overseas. Today Epiphone produces excellent entry-level versions of many models including a wide range of Les Pauls as well as many popular hollowbodies like the Casino and Sheraton.
